Summer is just about behind us and fall is around the corner. I pray the hot days are behind us. I’m sure everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather on Labor Day weekend. Larry and I have had a quiet summer no big trips. August we had planned to spend 2 two weeks at Mountain Lakes in Lyle Creek. Our 2nd day in I was at work and Larry had gone to the store to stock up for the weekend and the Blue Cut fire broke out. We almost lost our trailer twice that week, however, thank you to the brave and talented fire fighters on the ground and in the air. In Mountain Lakes, the only loss was one of the big cabins. Our 5th wheel came home a little dirty and smelling of smoke.

Our speaker last month was Kim Hicken the General Manager for Home Instead Senior Care. She shared with us about the “Be a Santa to a Senior” program. It is where they put small Christmas trees in businesses with tags from seniors who have no one for the holidays. It works just like the angel tree except it’s for seniors who don’t realize they are getting a gift. Yes, I am on the committee with some amazing ladies. I will share more at the meeting.

This month our speaker and future member is Tracy Gossert with Senegence (Lipsense), yes that’s the lipstick that stays on all day. For the last 15 years, Tracy has been the manager for State Street Salon in Redlands. She is excited to share her new passion in selling Senegence (Lipsense). Tracy will also be our vendor in September.
